Aug 14th Rookies 3rd Annual Car show

Well after the great Midwest meet the St Louis boy put on and the great dinner with Aggost the weekend wasn't over. The Next Morning Damon and Kevin meet Amy and I at our Hotel and the 4 of us headed east from Galesburg to St. Charles IL. There was 3hrs of road to hit before the end of registration for the show. We rolled in just before 11 Luckily there was a car wash right next to the place. The show was small about 25 cars. The looming weather and the all Pontiac show down the road played a factor I’m sure. After the wash I back in next to Damon and we both started cleaning and setting up our stuff. His Engine shroud was a huge hit he said he didn’t think he beat me both me and Amy said other wise. The first person to say something was the show manager. Damon had just set it up and he came over and commented on how cool it was and very unique. I keep telling him he was winning he wasn’t convinced even after the Cheerleaders for the Kane County eagles Football team said how cool it was he wasn’t convinced. We all know how cheerleaders have such great car knowledge. After we set up and cleaned the cars we heading in to have a bite. The place was pretty dead inside too, the best thing on the T.V was a spelling bee on ESPN2. After the long wait for the food in an empty place (go figure right) we headed out side for the participant judging we had to do. There was a pair of Classic Mopar we drooled over for a while love the Mopars. A Masarati, Jaguar T-bucket, Caddy most of the cars were classics just me and Damon and 2 Tuner cars. There were maybe 8 cars past the year 95. After the Judging came the Awards. It was Damon and I in 1st and 2nd place in your class. Yep he won 1st. This was his first show and it’s a first place wins. I was so glad he won makes all his hard work worth it. He was very surprised he doesn’t listen well, we all told him he was winning. So that was a great capper to a great weekend in my book. Hope we can do this again soon.

Well this is getting long so bye for now.
