I went to see this show in Mamaroneck NY today. Got into a line for admissions. Then tons of hot cars piled in behind me. (There was a non descript mustang in fromt of me, so I thought he was going in to watch as well)
Next thing you know, I'm at the registration desks. They tell me I am too new to be in the show. (Cutoff is 2000) I say I am only there to watch. Meanhwile it's a single file lane with no turnaround ability. Then these guys pow wow and come back and say I can go in the Open Class but I cannot be judged. I didn't care since I was only going to watch anyway.
So I drive down to class 38 way at the end in a corner about 50 feet from the baseball infield of the park (DUST CITY)
Next thing you know a guy in a 2003 T Bird pulls in next to me. Same situation, only he also had a 53 Studebaker in the show, so they let him bring his other car in. Then on the other side, a 2004 GTO pulls in. Same thing with him. (It was a fund raiser so I guess everybody's money is good.
A few late 90's Musangs and cobras filled in our row and then a new viper, and that was that.
I do have to say though that the T Bird and the GTO got NO PLAY AT ALL. Everyone was hangin' out at the old 300C or the Viper (A BIG WIN FOR MOPAR) . Of course here I am with about 6 California Dusters going continuously with all that dust (Hope I didn't screw up my paint)
In any event , here are some pics
I got some great shots of the car, Me ,my oldest son Mike, the retro row (Tbird.me and the goat) and a MINT 1958 300 D Hemi convertible (one of OUR 300 GRANDADs)
Here goes:
NO TROPHY BUT I GOT MUCHU GOOD COMMENTS ON MY RIDE AND THE 300's IN GENERAL. All in all it was a great day.
