It never felt comfortable or sure of itself and gave us all disconnected, spooky feelings..." "If the Z06 encountered any bump or lump in the pavement as it was exiting a corner, the result was a nearly instantaneous outward snap of the tail" It all sounds so familiar, more dramatic than my C, but familiar nonetheless. C&D recommended before you take a Z06 to the track "modify it's suspension or get new tires", deja vu all over again.
I feel your pain in this. Even with 20's it is a bit scary at 100MPH in a looping curve to hit a bump and nearly lose it. What more you come off the gas and let a 90 something mustang think he won after about a 1/8 of a mile run. I came up from behind him, he hit it, I hit it, and just stayed on his bumper not even trying to pass we hit the curve and I had to really use all my driving expertise (what little I do have) to keep it in control. Scary indeed, it makes you look like you can't drive. Makes you think twice about doing high spped runs especially here in Hampton Roads Virginia, where the roads are just horrible.
