If you are using the AFB on the driveway, out in the open, not too bad on the ears. If you are in the garage, at night, and door down, then ear plugs.
When I am ever working with anything noisy like that, for a period of time (min. 10 minutes) I wear plugs. I am a Home builder and when I am on my job sites, my ear plugs go in, especially in the framing stage. My sport bike is very loud, and even with my helmet, I wear plugs.
