Talking Who wants Track Time?

14th day I owned my car I tore up Sears Point Raceway (aka Infineon) and had THE Time of My Life!

I got to know the who's who at the track and knew For Sure that I'd be back. I also asked one of the instructors (Tony B) to take a couple laps in my car so that I could hear how bad ass it sounded (Bone Stock then). All of my fellow students told me it was a Must Hear! Tony said "You don't have to ask me twice" and flew by us on the main straight a couple of times: Man it sounded awesome!

This past week was the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction here in Scottsdale. (I never miss it, and never bring my checkbook!) They had a demo consisting of two maniacs in Ford's (Mustangs and a Focus believe it or not) Drifting around the parking lot with the tires melting, narrowly missing each other and the wall consistently. It was SICK!!!

After they finished I went over to check out the cars. The head guy/PA announcer asked me if I wanted in and moved the barrier. As I approached one of the 'stangs (tires still smoldering) the driver gets out and takes off his helmet. We look at each other like "I know You". it's Tony B: Professional race car driver and instructor at the Jim Russell Race School at Sears Point. We chatted for a while and then he suggested:

"Why don't you guys have a SRT day or 300 day or something at Sears Point. We already have a Porsche day and a Ferrari day!"

So this thread is an interest list only. Not a commitment. I am going to talk to THE GUY at Infineon to see what dates might be available. I assume that a weekend day during the warmer months would suit most people best. I am hoping for a Saturday, so that winery hopping can be the day after, not before.

Also, there will likely be several options, as in with or without instructors etc.. When I took the Jim Russell Performance Driving Clinic enrollment fee was $495 and limited to 18 or 20 participants. Based on how many Forum members (here and at LXForums) want to drive (we can all show up) I'll post some more details about what options we have.

The ability to drive OUR cars on the track, with EXPERT instructors giving pointers is so valuable. Not just for those of us who are insane, but also for ANYONE who wants to become a better driver. There is usually a very wide diversity of cars and drivers of various ability, so no one should skip this for fear of being too slow or ridiculed. I GUARANTEE a good time will be had by all.

This invitation is for ALL LX Owners (Magnum, Charger & 300) and ALL SRT Vehicles (SRT-4, SRT-6, SRT-8, and SRT-10) In the event that the number of participants grows too large we may have to group accordingly!

BTW: Sunoco pumps at the track with everything from 91 to I think 118 octane (and every flavor in between)

Admin: Please make this a Sticky!
Forum members: please keep this thread On Topic.

Thanks,

Dan
