I had the pleasure today of doing a 75 mile trip from Cumbria, into Lancashire, through North Yorkshire and then back to Cumbria.
I stopped briefly in Morecambe to take in some sea air

the body of water that you can see is Morecambe Bay where 23 Chinese cocklers drowned a couple of years ago in
tragic circumstances. The hills in the background are above Grange Over Sands.
I then drove from Lancaster up the Lune Valley (an area that features strongly in books by
Zoe Sharp - a fantastic author), travelling via Wray (home of the
Wray Scarecrow Festival) and I ended up in Bentham where
The Ingleton Gingerbread Company produce some of the nicest cakes you could ever want to try.
From there it was a quick stopoff at the world famous Devils Bridge Bacon Buttie van (just for you Belmont) At Kirkby Lonsdale

where Arnie enjoyed a much deserved Bacon & Egg buttie with brown sauce, before heading home.
And yes it was bloody cold, and yes Arnie could do with a wash.
Start to finish 75 miles and from refuelling before and at the end I can tell you that Arnie is doing 35.5 MPG.
Cheerio
