A couple of things of note. I am very much "Old School" when it comes to running in a car (especially a diesel) and I'v kept Arnie down to 3000 rpm for the first 1000 miles. By happy coincidene het hit 1005 miles as we stopped at the toll booth on the M6 (toll) at Birmingham, so I had for the first time the pleasure of taking Arnie to 3500 rpm - woooooooooowwwwwwww. Bloody hell he moves well for a big lad. Oh Happy Days are here again.
Also with the extra miles he is loosening up really well and is driving better and better.
If anyones interested, over a 700 mile round trip (85mph cruise on Motorways) and 50 miles of rural/B roads I got 34 MPG.
It looks like I have another South Coast trip coming up soon which will take me over 2000 miles, so I'll be able to tell you what 4000 rpm feels like.

Ha, Murphy my dear fellow, how are you? Glad to hear that I am not the last bastian of proper running in! Give young Arnie another 1000 miles and he'll be off like a terrier with a hot mustard poultice on his jacksie!
I'm sure i've mentioned before that my CRD experience from the Grand Cherokee leads me to believe that the best is yet to come. Please do let Mrs Murphy in on the secret that the same surely cannot be said for you old fellow!
I recently had to make a trip through your lovely land and had the pleasure of trying out this new M6 toll business. I must say, the best spent £2 in the whole journey! And talk about a home from home for Arnie. No Jam butties, No Traffic and No cameras! Purrrrfect.
Anyway MTC, trust you are well,
Belmont
