Not sure about the failure rate, but I have been wondering about everyone being so concerned about the torque involved. If you look at the numbers the SRT-8 way outshines the C with 425 HP vs. 340 HP, but the torque difference is actually much less...420 vs. 390. I am not sure how badly a tranny would hold up under 30 lb/ft more torque unless regularly abused.
Just a thought.
