Don, a couple things to keep in mind:

If you buy an extended warranty, I would only by a DaimlerChrysler service contract. There are different terms available depending on your driving habits; my dad got one on his SRT8 and went for the maximum number of Months but not miles.... which I think was 7 years but only 60k miles. He MIGHT (or might not) but 5,000 miles a year on his, so he was more interested in the time factor.

Some aftermarket warranty companies are really insurance companies and either (a) may not be around when you need them; (b) pro-rate cost of major repairs or only will authorize used parts, such as transmissions; or (c) some shops are 'gun shy' about these and will not release the car until paid in full, so you either have to pay and wait for reimbursement or wait for the warranty company to pay. So definitely go with a Chrysler backed warranty if you do it at all.

Also, you do not have to buy the warranty from the same dealer you buy the car from; you can shop around. I think my dad could have gotten a warranty cheaper, but on the other hand he got an SRT8 for $217 over invoice back when other dealers were $5k or $10k over MSRP so he didn't feel too bad about them making a few bucks off his warranty!

Hope this helps! you'll love the car if you decide to get one.
