thanks for the replies, and for the good information.

As soon as a I posted my question, the light came on about searching the forum. What can I say, I'm educated far beyond my intelligence.

I agree with all of the comments that recommend buying an extended warranty through the manufacturer. Steer a wide berth around those third party groups.

Just so I understand, the factory is 3/36, and then an extended will take you to 5/60, or you can buy 7/100. Is that correct?

The buying "term" or buying "mileage" has me confused a bit.
