I had a similar experience last month. It was misty raining and the car in front stopped short. I jammed on the brakes and would have stopped, but I was rear ended and pushed into the rear of the car in front. I thought the damage to the front was going to be worse than the rear, but the only damage was to my license plate. Similar to what someone else on the forum reported to their plate. The rear bumper needed some work, but I had it done by a great shop. The worst part was having to drive a light blue Toyota Camry for 3 days.
The car that hit me was a Mercedes SLK350 Roadster. The best damage to his car was a 3" hole in his hood from my exhaust pipe. I wish I had a picture.
The car in front was a 20year old Mercedes driven by a 20 year old driver and his friend. There was probably more damage to my car from their drool than there was by the accident. They were all over the car.
You could say that I was the Cream of the Mercedes sandwich.
