2006 Imperial & New Yorker
|
Released today, these photos of the long-awaited new Imperial & New Yorker models supply confirmation that plans are afoot inside of Chrysler to move up their introduction dates. Originally rumored for mid-2007, the utilization of a stretched 300C platform combined with the anticipated availability of a 3rd shift at Chrysler's Brampton Toronto plant appear to have solidified management's revised position. "We want to get these cars into the hands of customers as soon as possible," reflected Dieter Zetsche, DCX's CEO, "the polling data is clear: we cannot wait for another election." Indeed, if all goes as planned, DCX promises to make a prototype Imperial parade car available to the White House by January for inauguration duties, and later for duties abroad in occupied territory(ies). No word yet on a bullet proof bubble top. :o
