I've seen some threads where people mention hitting the rev limiter on the wide open throttle 1st to 2nd shift. I'm trying to get a feel for how wide spread this is because it's starting to get annoying. I don't think I can ever go flat out and have the car make a smooth shift from 1st to 2nd gear without the motor cutting out because of the rev-limiter.

It's starting to become a pain.
