Dom, my wife is the CD "Jockey" at our place. She burns the CD's (CD-R, CD-RW) with songs in MP3 format. You can fit about 150 tracks on one CD, of course depending on the length of the songs. You can have Directories so you can navigate around the CD more easily.
She also has her i-River. With this we use a FM transmitter with plugs into the power socket and the i-River headphone jack. Tune into a compatible FM frequency and away you go. You can pick these up off eBay for about A$15 shipping inclusive.
