Talking Plug Patch

The newer version is a plug and a patch. It is a plug in the hole and a patch inside the tire. It's two toys in one! I've had at least 4 of these repairs (in different tires) so far in the 6 months I've owned my SRT-8. I drive at warp speed on a regular basis. I have zero concern about a tire that was properly fixed. Of course, this only applies to repairs in the tread, not on the shoulder or sidewall. Tirerack recently had our 245/45/20 F1's on sale for $215 each.

I also have the Road Hazard warranty (60,000 mile) for my tires and rims. If I get a flat that is not fixable or damage a rim: Free replacement! $500 well spent.

I drive a lot (22,000 miles in 6 1/2 months) all over AZ, CA, NV with No Spare. AAA Gold with 100 miles towing if I need it. Who needs a spare?
