No it doesn't. I installed the MOPAR remote start, which I got with the install kit also (you MUST have this, I don't know why it's not one package.) The kit has a ring that goes around the ignition switch just under the cover. It is attached to the control module. When you hit the start button (from the comfort of you warm home) the controller sends the key code (which you used BOTH sentry keys to program) to the ring which emmits the same signal as your key. The only way to activate the ring is with the remote fob, which of course is on the key ring with the factory key, at least mine is. It doesn't just "power up" the ring, but actually send the coded electronic signal. You cannot hotwire this ring. If you touch the brake pedal before inserting the key and turning to ON/RUN, the engine dies and you are no better off than if you broke in... ie, it's just as safe to use this as the coded key.
I have installed the PYTHON/VIPER system on other vihicles, and they work the same way, when a coded key system is used. I much prefer these to the MOPAR system. more options and better feedback. I wish I had done the Python/Viper on my SRT8. was trying to keep it "factory". Plus the key is SO DANG BIG that I didn't want the rather large Python fob attached to it in my pocket. The MOPAR fob is small.
