I know that it is not much of a wait, but once again there are problems.
It started out that I ordered the car for April,I am in the USA for Daytona Bikeweek for March from 4th through to 14th.So the car arriving here in April was good!!!!
A few weeks ago, just before I joined this forum my dealer called to say it will be here 1st March.I told him I was away from the 4th,he told me he needed me to take the car on the first to get it cleared out. They have a lot of car in there storage area for March delivery and they cannot move, that was his story!!!
So I got Insurance arranged, made sure they would be paid on the day,had my phone man make some space in his week to fit a phone for me.
All the things that need to be done when a new car arrives.
Then Last night they called to say the 19th March.
From here on you know the story,it was not there fault,it was the moon not in conjuncture with Venus,it was the earth shift ,it was someone else.
I have been fortunate in my life and have dealt with a lot of other manufacturers, they all have there own way of dealing with problems.
Chrysler just dumps on the customer.
I do have other vehicles to use, but if I had not, there was no offer of a vehicle to cover up until my vehicle arrives...Nothing.No Customer service at all.
I know it may not seem much of a wait but a contract is a contract,if you break it there should be a penalty to pay.
Anyway I have had my 5 cents worth.Hope all the others waiting for March 1 have better luck than me
Regards

Hi JJ, Sorry to hear about the delay. Whilst it is dissapointing you can rest assured that your dealer wants your car out just as fast as you! Not only does you collecting the car free up their space but it has many other implications;
Your money! They want it,
Your trade in (if appicable) may already be sold,
Free up funding (your car is holding up space on a credit line),
Target, achieving this is worth a lot of cash to your dealer,
You, off their case! Nothing worse than a disgruntled customer!
Commission, some poor sods wages rely on you collecting on time!
Believe me, dealers want to deliver your car as fast a humanly possible and are just as disgruntled when the goal posts shift! I appreciate that i am biased, but rest assured your saleman will be almost as pissed as you!
The report your dealer relies upon for all delivery dates is produced weekly by DC. Cars move around in production schedule and timescales can rarely be gauranteed until the vehicle arrives at the dealership. It is worth remembering that all of our product is built abroad and sometimes boats break down, get lost, are diverted by weather........
2 of our 300's origionally due for April/May will now (hopefully) show face in March. So whilst you are pissed at your delay, i've got two customers who's days will be made and will consider us to be the answer to all things Chrysler when i phone with the good news. Experience has taught me however to wait 'til i can touch the bonnets before lifting the phone!
Just's example of cars arriving out of sync is representative of some problems DC have be experiencing with their factory build schedules. Cars were being built not in chronological order but in the most convenient(from the factory's point of view) order. This should now have been rectified in line with DC's new build schedule.
All else aside, this time next week you'll be driving away in your new car, all the troubles forgotton (fingers crossed).
Hope you enjoy the beast
