Polishing UK Style?
|
Hi All...
For more decades than I care to admit to I have religiously stuck to the following cleaning ritual:-
1) Vacuum and clean the interior
2) Hose down bodywork and underneath wing areas
3) Bucket and sponge using good quality car shampoo
4) Hose off shampoo
5) Chamois leather the bodywork and glass areas
5) Apply a good quality polish (I normally use Autoglym Super Resin) to the bodywork and suitable glass polish to the glazed areas using stockinette material (bi-annually)
6) Buff with similar material
7) Application of polish sealant and buff with lint free cloth (annually)
Whilst being more than happy with the results of that routine I am nevertheless intrigued by the 'claying' method that appears to be popular with our pals in the US and which is advocated by forum member (and professional detailer) 'turbomangt' in the Detailing Discussion sub forum.
Anyone tried the claying method ?
What other tried and tested cleaning rituals do you have?
Regards
Geordie
