Initially, I didn't want Sirius Radio but my car had it installed. After using it now for over 6 months, it has become a favorite accessory.
Sirius consists of 3 satellites spaced evenly across the USA to provide its coverage. On the other hand, XM Radio -- its competitor -- uses only 1 bird and that is located in the vicinity of Mexico, giving an oblique angle of coverage to its customers. It also uses repeaters to avoid dead spaces. However, both systemss will give some lack of coverage due to its very direct line-of-sight transimission to your radio.
In other words, there will be some interference from both systems from heavy tree cover, etc. This is not a criticism, but factual info to help one decide upon satellite radion systems and on which system to install in your 300. DC, of course, offeres only the Sirius system as OEM.
You should be aware that both system have a monthly fee for accessing them. In the case of Sirius, the first year's fee has now been included in the purchase price of the 300 autos.
