Electric Cutouts UK

I am very surprised at the lack of knowledge regarding electric cutouts by UK exhaust people and car engineers. A few i've contacted about getting a pair fitted have never heard of them. Why is the UK so ignorant about these cutouts that are such common accessories in the U.S?

what make (they all seem to have issues!). Mine are blanked-off at present while I try to cure a hiccup with one of the motors (hit a branch in a flood & partially pulled it off). Prior to that I had to dismantle them to cure a rattle. Its not just me, other UK members have headaches & no make seems bulletproof

One of the last minute reasons I was eventually put off was the ground clearance, especially when car has been lowered the risks are even more greater

Its sound menacing though and would like to have fun and scare road users, heheheh

There are a few people that do know of them. I had mine installed (with exhaust in situ) in essex by mike the Pipe. he's seen them before, but there aren't many...
I love mine, and TBH am pretty glad everybody else hasn't got them!

KB, they will be qtp's oval ones. And as I have straight pipes from cats to the back box, i am going to put them where the middle box was now it's not there anymore and that it already has the heat resistor plates there. There is a lot more room to play with as there is more ground clearance there than fitting them after the cats, and because I have straight pipes anyway, I don't think it matters where they go along the pipe.

Hiya Chris - sorry - when I said Mike the Pipe that was for something else!

I actually had my cutouts done at Pipecraft in Basildon -

Tel: 01268 285 535

Done while I waited - took a while but there are pubs/cafes /shops not too much walk away. When he did my cutouts he also extended my exhaust tips about 1.25 inches as I didn't like em as they were...

Ian
