Headlights flickering

Hi Everyone:

I have an 07 300C SRT8 6.1 and recently I noticed that my headlights will flicker on and off randomly.

I took it to 2 dealerships to have it looked at and both say they cannot duplicate the problem and don't do anything about it.

It is starting to drive me crazy and it can be dangerous when going 75 on a highway and both headlights flicker off.

Anyone know about this issue or have any ideas?

Thanks a million!!

Do you have factory HID's? If so i would think maybe you have a bad ballast. Otherwise jack the front end up and look for a loose connection, at least thats where id start. Or look for a loose fuse in the fuse block that deals with the headlights etc. See what that does.

Headlight flickering

Has the headlight flickering problem ever been resolved? I've taken my car to the dealer 3 times - paid over $800 - and still have the problem. they tell me they "just have to keep changing out parts" until they figure out what is wrong. My car is an '06 so there is no warranty. the computer has been re-programmed 3 times now, at $150 each time. I need HELP!

Resolved

Yes. After checking ballasts and connections I finally decided to just change both HID bulbs and the problem stopped. Apparently when the D1S HID bulbs get to end of life they start to flicker on and off. Ever since I changed the bulbs I have not had any issues. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I suppose I'll try that next. I won't be a happy camper if I've spent all this money changing modules, etc and getting it reprogrammed if it turns out to be just the headlights. But I will be thankful to be able to drive at night again!

BTW, what type of bulbs did you purchase? Online or at a local store?
Thanks!

Headlights

Oh I definitely feel you. I went through all the same issues and reprogramming for months until I finally replaced the bulbs and it fixed it. I was pretty upset about it lol. I just purchased the OEM bulbs from a local store. For my '07 it was Sylvania D1S HID bulbs. I would double check your manual and make sure to find the right bulb because it could be either a D1S, D2S or D4S. I'm pretty sure tho if you have a 06 300 with factory HIDs then it should be the D1S. Good luck!

Yes. Just remember to pick the right one for the low beam headlight.
