Finally got my 06 300C SRT8 to the track after having it since last November. My mods are an AFE2 intake, 180 stat and diablo predator with a custom tune from Johan (I haven't even sent logs back to get it fine tuned).
I was expecting mid 13's but was surprised at my best:
13.2056 @ 107.9 mph with a 2.065 60ft.
I did 4 more runs and all were 13.3-13.4 @ 105-107 with 2.1-2.2 60fts.
Those times seem decent? Now I need to find the next best bang for the buck mods to get it well into the 12's. The fun part of the night was surprising quite a few who thought it was a big slow luxury car
Congrats on the nice runs. Your results are similar to mine. My first time at the track I ran a best of 13.2 at about 107.x with a 2.0x 60 ft, but this was when my car was bone stock. What was the temperature and elevation (DA)? If I recall correctly, the DA was about 2300 on my 13.2 pass. For comparison, I ran a 12.90 ET on my first run with the Predator tune installed, but DA was slightly better (close to 1000 on this run).
Were there any other modern Mopars there? How about other cars like Mustangs and Camaros? How did they do by comparison? There are always lots of people asking questions about my SRT8 when I go to the track.
It was at Dragway 42 here in Northeast Ohio. Temps were in low 80s and sunny on best run. Elevation I think is around 400ft.
Quite a mix of cars old and new. Not many Mopars. No one noticed my car until I ran then all of a sudden folks started checking it out. Too funny. Didn't lose a race. Not a particularly fast track. I seem to run faster at others with my Olds 442.
The calculator will help you compare your times if you go back again and the DA is better or worse. The track you go to can make a difference too. None are perfectly flat and many are on a slight incline or decline, depending on the track. Even slight changes can make a difference when your talking about a few tenths of a second and one or two miles per hour in trap speed.
Thanks that is a handy site. Yeah this track is quite old and definitely not smooth. You feel slight ups and downs as you go down the track. It usually costs me a few tenths on cars I have raced in the past compared to other local tracks.
Sure was fun. The SRT8 gained some respect. I noticed I ran slightly slower shifting myself. Also after analyzing my run I recorded with the predator I had a few degrees of ST knock throughout the whole run.
Looks like another SRT8 will be in the 12s come this fall If you have your tranny flashed to upshift at redline your car will be fastest in autostick and just let it shift itself, otherwise you should leave it in drive.
