Every State has a little different insurance rules/regs. I would shop home/auto together as most co's give discounts on both policies if they have both, and you usually can't go wrong with the larger companies. Check out their ratings on claims.

Comp claims (unless you have a bunch of them, shouldn't effect your premium, so by them saying they could raise it but won't is bs on a comp claim, they could raise your deductible or drop the comp coverage, but not the premiums).

It used to be that if you were insured with a co. for a long time, that WOULD make a difference in the event of a claim or 2....no longer. You have an at fault or ticket and you can kiss your a+ premiums g'bye - 2 incidents, and they will drop you like a rock (my dad was w/a great local co. for 30 years - 1 speed and 1 at fault, they dropped him).

Also (former agent talking) READ your policies and make sure you know what is and more importantly...what is NOT covered. I can't begin to tell you how many people think they have "full coverage"...sorry, but there is no such thing as "full coverage".
(...end of rant)
