Pump gas is for wimps. Just remember, a 1000hp Supra still makes 700hp on pump gas. That's still enough to waste most street-driven cars.

I know they're fast, but you need the right fuel, tuning, and boost components to make them that way.
That's a rule of thumb for ANY fast car, not just Supras.

Other than that those I6's are very stout and can take the power.
You are correct. 8-second ET's have been laid down using stock cast pistons and the stock crankshaft. The stock IRS suspension is also stout. 7.90ETs have been run on the stock rear halfshafts and diff.

Personally I'd rather have a 600RWHP Cobra on pump gas to be honest
Cobras are nice, and respond well to mods. Too bad the factory rearends are so weak. 600rwhp will destroy it. Unfortunately, it seems like every kid has a Cobra, and the blower whine also gets reeeeally annoying after a while. I used to own a 10-second Vortech-supercharged Formula Firebird, and even the S-trim made too much noise for me, although it was at idle.

I think the Supra's look better.
That's a given!
