Intermittent HID Headlight Malfunction

I've had my car about 1.5 years, no problems other than a rear speaker replaced under warranty. Stock HIDs

The other night, I was driving home and my lughts seemed to dim dramatically, then went to full power. It happened one more time moments later, and just then I was pulling into my driveway. The pattern on the garage door told me the drivers side HID was OUT. High beams seemed to both work based on the pattern.

I got out of the car and confirmed that the dirvers light was not lit.

When I put the car away, it was back on. I played with the key fob and it came on like always.

It was late, so my underhood check consisted of cojnfirming that there was nothing I could reach from above.

Last night, they caem on when I started the car and as far as I could tell, stayed on the entire time.

Anyone else have anything like this? Is the HID failing? What's a replacement bulb cost?
