ps. asked my dealer if the car needed to be run in, and was told 'no, not nowadays'. However, having just browsed various posts on the subject in this forum, I'm going to adopt the old-fashioned approach

Hi John
I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of your car - I've seen a silver one in the flesh & it looked great - I'm sure that a Black one looks as impressive. One thing with a black car that you are about to discover, make friends with your bucket & sponge - you'll be seeing a lot of each other over the next few years. Last June when I put my deposit down on my car, I really wanted an estate, but at the time they did not definitely know if the estate was coming to Britain. I hope that you enjoy your car as much as I enjoy mine - it really is fantastic motoring.
As for the diesel fillup question, my Dad used to do recovery work and it happens more often than you think. Most diesel pumps are black, but ESSO (I think) does theirs in Blue which confuses the job. A quick word of warning for you - BP do 2 x grades of diesel, regualar whch is errr regular and Ultimate which is supposed to be a better product, be warned however, it is 5p a lt dearer and on a 78lt tank thats nearly £4.00 ouch. You can get an audible warning from a company when you open the fuel flap, but I couldn't find it for you this morning.
Regarding running in, I'm Old School and running in my car did no harm to it whatsover. I found the engine to be very tight at first and it took a few thousand miles to really loossen up. Now with over 6000 miles on, it is sooooo smmmmmmmooootttthhh and goes like stink when I need it to.
Enjoy Monday & I hope that your car blows your mind.

p.s. BB I was curious about your 300C touring import post because there are several Americans who would dearly like the 300C Touring rather than the Dodge Magnum but were told that they could get it in North America.
