And my cirsumstances are NCB 2 years
3 points back in 2001 for defective tires. (long story - I was pulled because I had a distinctive car is what he said - I just took it to mean a young guy in a fast sports car - he spent over 40 minutes checking my car as he was training a new starter then said the left rear was 1/2 millimeter too low, I said it had just had a service 3 weeks earlier and he said it could wear 1/2 a milimeter in 3 weeks. By this point I just gave in.)

Also accident my fault back in Apr 04 (only rear light on other car broken - no damage to the my landrover).

And my highest quote was £1589.24 (that with the tracker fitted)

And the quote I went with was RAC who gave a great quote of £568.19. This great deal includes if the 300c is written off or stolen unrecovered in the first year I can either take the street value of the car (it will be low as all cars depreciate about 20-30% once off forcourt)
Or I can have a brand spanking new car. with delivery milage no matter howmany mile I do in the first year. also include the usuals such as legal cover etc.

PS i was told if I was an RAC member I would have got about another 10% off.

hints for getting cheaper insruance are
1) use insurance supermarkets - moneysaving expert is best
2) change your profession to get better quotes. e.g I own an IT consultancy company and I played with IT programmer, company director, computer manager. ETC ETC
3) make sure your covered for commuting, I noticed not all companies cover commuting as standard, they just say leisure and social.
4) always be honest
5) online quotes really are cheaper (but ring after you get the quote to finalise the deal and try for a reduction)
6) keep looking around
7) book your insruance close to the expiry date. (seems weird but its true if you try and get a quote too far online they predict the national rise of risk in the next few months)
