When my parents moved down to Sunrise in 1975, University Blvd was one lane in each direction from Broward Blvd heading north, and there was nothing on either side of the road.
Up here in Wellington, while being spread out equestrian horse country, they recently completed expansion of the intersection of SR7 and Forest Hill Blvd. The Mall at Wellington Green is located there, and there are 3 left turn lanes, 4 lanes for straight ahead traffic, and 2 right turn lanes. It has to be 250' from corner to corner.
Expansion, heat, hurricanes and all, we still love being new transplants to South Florida. (I might modify that statement after the 2006 Hurricane Season is over.)
