My car had an annoying rattle coming from the right/side of the dashboard, which manifested itself only after having a TSB 'fix' performed to rectify a window clacking/popping-type sound...which sounded as if the windshield was hit by a rock. This clacking/popping sound had been prevalent from 'day one' of vehicle ownership.

From what I'm able to surmise, the 'TSB' required the removal of a screw which held a right/side dash bracket in place. The removal of the screw would then relieve some stress being placed upon the windshield by the dashboard. I can only guess that the rattle was then either caused by the technician dropping the screw into the right/front defroster and/or for the fact that the dash bracket was now loose.

After the TSB was performed, the clacking/popping noise ceased; however, an irritating rattling noise immediately started coming from the right/side of the dashboard whenever the car was driven. The noise could be stopped whenever the front passenger would simply apply some forward pressure upon the right/side of the dashboard and toward the firewall.

Last week, a Chrysler technician was finally able to 'duplicate' our complaint. Although I feel that he may have just simply 'fished-out' the original screw from inside the defroster, he advised us that he actually installed a new screw to re-affix the dash bracket, but not as tight as it was initially done during the vehicle manufacturing process.

According to my wife, who just returned from a five hundred mile round-trip drive, the original clacking/popping-type noise did not return and the annoying rattle is now finally gone.

Throughout the 1yr/8mos of vehicle ownership, we've experienced no other rattles/noises, and the cabin interior is extremely quiet. BTW, we did not opt for the sunroof, due to the fact that they've always leaked and/or rattled in the many vehicles that we've owned...they've just always been a problem.
