SRTHILL,
I had the same issue.
it is the fan and honestly it is harmless per my service writer...
it sounds HORRIFIC though doesn't it?
the first time it happened to me was at a M&G last year in late July or early August...
I think I had the car like a month...
it was the 2nd fan - for the A/C that was the problem...
I just did not use the A/C...
which lasted oh...
a couple of days...

ok here is the official word on what it was...
I just called my service guy...
"the fan was "rubbing" against the fan shroud housing..."
