Transmission fluid check

Hey everyone,

I want to get something clear about checking the transmission fluid on the NAG1. I know we get the temp of the fluid by putting the car into drive. I want to know if we check the level of the fluid in park or drive.. The level of fluid in park is different than the level of fluid in drive. I've been having a whine whirrling noise when car is cold before the 2nd shift happens. Sounds like the tranny pump sucking air almost. Level is at 65mm at 165 degrees when checked in park. Level is at about 45mm when checked in drive at 165 degrees.

Any thoughts would be helpful
