Seems odd though that they are releasing them "this summer", near the same time that the 2014 models start production.

I don't think the "Core" models will do as badly; they're not as coffin-like as the interior of the ZL1, and I suspect dealers will order lot cars with a few options (the screen and HIDs) while performance / budget-minded folks will factory order. I doubt you'll see a bare-bones, base Core model in a dealership... but even if you do, it's not going to be missing interior panels and have exposed scaffolding. They went cheap in very smart places, by the looks of it.

You have to remember the existing SRTs (as pointed out by others) are range-toppers and come fully loaded with few options. Dropping all the loaded stuff and basically shoving SRT parts into a Challenger SE, Charger SE, and 300 base loses a lot of the toys, but not much of the polish and finish.

Looks like the Core would be great for you guys across the pond. At least in the states you can get a good deal on these cars. Do they drop the prices at the end of the model year when the new ones start hitting the lots?

The SRT8 trunk emblem is red, not black like the other newer models

Don't forget the 3rd and last option being the leather pack lol what bull shit I was not going to pay for a leather pack that only added a leather dash and a bit of leather down the sides of your shifter. The sun roof is a waste of time in Australia with our weather ,last thing you need is sun belting down on your head and interior. How ever I did go with the Black Chrome Group and from what I have seen with all the US cars you get that with Black head lights so were still been ripped off.
Cheers
Geoff

Dec. 2012 built. Landed in Australia 2013 and complied Feb.2013. Black SRT8, 6.4 Ltr. Black Chrome option and Radar Red Interior. The Only Modifications are a Billet Technology Catch Can, Black Tinted Windows and Resonator delete
( The only reason I speed is to get there before I forget where I am going )

Chrysler dont do much in the way of discounting here but if you screw the dealers and stick to your dollars you are prepared too part with you can get a good deal. How ever our dollar is very strong and we pay shit loads more for a car than you guys do. You even get our Holdens sold there as Pontiac GTO and Caprice cheaper than we pay for them here.
Our lovely Government is making a shit load of $$$ out of duties etc.
Cheers

This makes sense for the people who want to race these cars, for some reason I feel like it matches more to the Challenger and Charger but not so with the 300. That being said the 300 has some racing legacy, I just don't feel like the current car markets that way.

I want the 300 because of the luxury and the "sleeper" look.

I'm curious to see how this grand experiment pans out. Surely the cars will sell, but I want my Depends with my new 300

Don't forget the leather pack as it is not the red leather as the leather pack is the dash and side bits on the centre console that have the extra leather and your paying a shit load for that. I think the Core will do well here in Australia due too the fact that the only V8 option here now is the 6.4 after Chrysler Australia dumped the 5.7 so they had nothing to fill the gap between the V6 300c Luxury and the 6.4 SRT8 hence the Core ! Plus it gives GMH and Ford a bit of completion with their V8 range although ford is just about stuffed here now anyway. Most of then will end up been world cars like Mondao etc. all imported.
Cheers

Has anyone yet seen a core here or across the pond on the road yet. Not sure about over there but unless your an enthusiast I doubt you would even know they exist. They havent even been in Wheels or Motor magazine. Hard for people to buy something they don't know exist.

I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather.. Not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.

Seen about 3 that Suttons at Rosbery had when I was in sydney last week the were all Black and had heaps more sparkle in the paint than my 2010 5.7 had with the Modern Black. They looked ok for the money and had $58,000.00 drive away in the windows.
Cheers
