first oil change.....what is recommended?

I normally run Motul as that's what my local independent has. I'm not near my car at the moment so I can't RTFM....what is recommended for the SRT8? 5W30? 0W30?

thanks

0W-40 or 5W-40, I would go 0W-40 being the cold season is upon us.

There was a TSB that came out from Chrysler that says to use 0W40.

any issues with Mobil 1 in 0W40? The Pennzoil Ultra looks to be OEM for Chrysler so nobody else sells it. Might as well take the car to the dealer if I have to go there anyway to buy the oil/filter.

I use Mobil-1 0W-40 along with the Mobil-1 filter.

The Penzoil is the factory oil and the one installed at the dealerships, you can buy it online also (it has the SRT logo on the bottle) they used to use Mobil-1 but after Fiat bought Chrysler they switched to Penzoil I guess Fiat has a contact with them.

Both are good but I have been using Mobil-1 for a long time and decided to stick with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Penzoil Ultra is a slightly higher grade of synthetic. This could prove problematic down the road with an ******* dealer that gives you flak for using Mobil-1 one instead of the recommended grade.

You are wrong. Not necessairly about the oil grade comment - who knows - but a dealer will not give you flak for using Mobil 1.

What Mobil 1 filter number are you using for the 6.4?

from MobilOil.com:

M1-210

Amazon has them for $13/ea or a two-pack for $25. There's a seller doing them at $8/ea on Amazon too (FilterDump) but that makes me nervous as I've gotten counterfeit product on Amazon earlier this year. Since they sell for $13.99 or $14.99 at AutoZone or Advance, the $13 seems legit.

If I have a choice between 5W-40 Pennzoil Ultra or 0W-40 Mobil 1, what's the better choice? Can't find 0W-40 for the Pennzoil except at the dealer and they charge $13x7 for it. I can get either of the others for $50 for 7 quarts from Amazon (almost half).
