I test drove a 2013 300 SRT a few days ago and loved it. since then i've been doing a lot of research on it but i figured i'd get opinions from SRT owners who drive their SRTs every day not some guy who wrote a review after spending less time with the car than i did.
basically what i'm getting at here is; what are the pros and cons of the 2013 300 SRT? i wanna know every little detail about this car before i get under a $50,000+ paper weight.
i am a huge fan of the SRT line up (especially the Viper which has been my favorite car since i was 7) but every car no matter how good has its draw backs and that's what i'm looking for here so i can make a good purchase decision.
The only cons so far for me have been gas mileage. And i cant keep my foot out of it! Probably why gas mileage is crap. LOL!
You already know the Pros. They got you interested already!

Yeah, mileage isn't the best and winter driving is a bit rough if you live where the white stuff piles up. I'm too lazy to get winter shoes so it's part my fault but she's also low to the ground so unplowed streets become impassable quickly either way. If that isn't an issue, it's certainly worth a strong consideration as the new models have a MUCH improved interior (the one weak area on the 1st gen models IMO except the seats, which I absolutely LOVE). I've been very happy with my SRT. Dealer service matters as my first dealer was less than good (to be polite) but my new dealer has been much more helpful. My SRT was a follow up to a lemon law'd 300C and even given that poor taste in my mouth my current ride still brings a smile to my face 5 years later almost every time I drive it and clean it up properly. For me, it's a fantastic sleeper ride. Hope that helps!

I concur. In my opinion, there is absolutely no "cons" to the SRT. If you can keep your foot out of it (try!), you can actually see 24-26 mpg on the highway. But stuff your foot in it and you'll just grin from ear to ear while you watch the gas gauge go down. I don't have a single complaint about my 300 SRT.

No negative comments here as well. While I don't own a 2013, SRT vehicles tend to be the top of the food chain for their respective lines.
What you find is that most of the luxury option packages, accessory packages and most powerful engines come with the SRT models. What was true in 2006 is true today - They are the most powerful, luxurious, best handling, highest optioned and desired vehicles in their model line.
All cars have weak spots but CJDR has dealt with those in the first generation cars and the 2013, being a re-design with a proven drivetrain, suspension and body structure, will prove to be a very high quality car.

In my opinion, what would really sweeten the deal on the SRT would be the addition of the 8 speed to the lineup.
It is an otherwise serious performance car for the money.
We were all excited when first generation SRT8 showed up in 2006. Unfortunately, there is very little that would convince me to buy current car. Car is underpowered for the segment and has an ancient transmission. Unless Chrysler can offer 500+ BHP and 7-8 speed transmission (it is 21 st century for gods sake), I would recommend to stay away from the SRT cars. Instead, please have a look at CTS-V, M5 cars, AMGs or R Jags. Look at the moderators above, none of them switched to new SRT????
I will keep my old good CSRT, as a wifeys or aupairs car (as it is worth nothing as a trade in, and I kept it in the pristine condition), but my new muscle sedan will not be Chrysler anymore (pity as I have been driving Chrysler's for the last 15 years). Unfortunately, with the exception of a new Viper, SRT cars are way behind the competition IMHO. Cheaper than competition from BMW or Cadillac, sure; but in a different field playing with Hyundai or Kia.
