updating the centre console software

hi guys

i noticed on the later 2012 models (my2013??) there seems to be a software update.

most noticeable is the new suspension/transmission settings rather than just sport mode or normal mode.

the garmin maps also updated and have '3d' pics

does anyone know if the software can be updated on the earlier 2012 models????

I had my car in the dealer for a repair, the Satelite radio didn't work so they had to replace the radio and I notice the New menu screen with the Sport and Track settings.
Does anyone know if the 2013 have the two different settings, because mine is a 2012 and both settings come up on the menu now, but only the Track setting will enegage not the Sport?

my '12 have both track and sport settings on the menu. also another '12 i test drove had it as well.

Down the bottom right where it says SRT & More I believe is the latest where it will have 3d maps. My 2012 model just say + More. My suspension settings gives a choice of Sport or Track or neither so I don't know what that's about.

In another thread I read that an SRT engineer said to display 3d maps they updated compontents of the unit so I'm guessing there'll be no soup for us with the + More firmware.

I'm guessing those pics you posted are not your car.

Today I got the auto door locks enabled and they did a map update at the same time which the paperwork shows as a recall, as per service bulletin. RRT 12-045. There was no charge. They also couldn't realign the bonnet saying it had to be sent to a panel beater. I'm not sure what sort of mechanics they have that aren't able to align a bonnet.

no those were not pics of my car. they were infact pics that i pulled from carsales.com.au on one of the 2012s srt8s advertised. one of the other guys here mastiha? has got the new maps but his car was delivered last month. surely there cant be any new hardware required to run the software upgrade???

anyway... my settings for the suspension is sport or nothing. no track or sport whatever... just sport or nothing.

what is the map update you got?? they didnt update that for me when they reflashed my car. LOL.

anyway... i will need them to do the door lock enable.

My car is an early 2012 that I bought in Dec. of last year and it didn't have the two setting only Sport, but now after the service to the Sat radio it has both. They told me they had to replace the radio but its still the same console because I had a scratch on the screen and its still there so I know they didnt replace the screen. It looks like it just a update to the firmware, I haven't noticed anything else that is different. I do wish that both settings would work that would definitely be a nice added feature.

I just checked the Nav and I do have the 3D setting but its not much different from the normal view. What I did notice that I didn't realize if it I had it before, and I think is kinda cool is you can change the vehicle, instead of just a blue arrow you can change that to diffrent vehicles like a jeep, minivan, pickup or different coloered cars.

I'm not driving all the way into Sydney to see if the Opera House is 3D. lol. Nothing in the suburbs is 3D, Parramatta would be the biggest centre nearby and I might check that when I go to another dealer to check my bonnet alignment issues.

The car icon thing was there before, I have it on mine and also bought mine December of last year.
I agree it's kind of cool to be able to change it, wish we could change the color of the car as well.

As I understand it, is the new track setting is what our sport setting is (which changes the shock settings and the transmission settings)
And the sport setting only changes the shocks and not the transmission shift points.

So we only have one option on the early builds all out Mayhem! Lol.

Yeah, mine has the new update. My dealer said my car was one of the first MY13 builds.
