I know a lot of you don't know me, but I introduced myself a couple of weeks ago. I am anticipating a 2012 300 SRT8 in my garage early spring. I came here to learn as much as I can about these cars. So please forgive the questions.
1. Anyone know if the "Chrysler" emblem on the rear deck has alignment pins? I'm sure it does considering the size. I think it would look cleaner removed. (Personal Opinion)
2. I'm looking at these used cars. It seems that the majority have red interior. I think it looks good with some colors, but for me and my DD, I would get tired of it. (Another Personal Opinion)
I'm getting pretty stoked about seeing some times on here around the mid 12's mark! Only reason I was considering the ctsv over the SRT8 was for the capability to run 12's in a DD sedan. Thanks in advance guys!
Yeah, unfortunately there are two holes in the trunk for the alignment pins on the Chrysler wing. I've seen some creative attempts to hide the holes after removing the wing, but the only thing that makes it truly look good IMO is to get the holes professionally filled and then you need a paint job. Quite a bit of work for two little holes unfortunately.
I'm with you on the red interior. I think it looks really good on some setups, but it's too much for me on my daily driver.
Thanks for the replies. I got a little caught up and forgot to ask the question regarding the red interior. Ha. Is the production about 50/50 on the black vs. red interior? Or, is this just a reflection of people trading in the red? Also, I know the t-1000 is out now, but any new news on an actual tuner? I mean with some serious power improvements?
Not sure about production numbers on black vs red, but I've probably seen 80/20 black to red personally. I would assume black was a much higher production. Interesting you are seeing 50/50 - maybe it is a trade in thing as you say.
As far as tuner, the trinity/intune is hands down the best. There are modest gains with the canned tunes, but if you want big gains then you need to also add more performance parts then get a professional CMR tune - with the help of a trinity/intune.
I have the red interior and personally would only get it with a black car. I like the fact that only the armrests on the doors are red so there isn't too much red. Also, the radar red is darker and not bright and loud.
The CTS-V is a $20k+ premium over an SRT8. If I could afford it, I would lean towards the V but the deciding factor would be the feel of the car.

I believe you were asking about a Gen 2 300.
The 2011 300, from what I read on the forums, does indeed have holes in the trunk lid to align the trunk Chrysler wing emblem.
My 2012 300 did not have alignment holes on my trunk lid when I removed my chrysler wing to have it painted.
