I have the premium leather option in my car. To be honest even though it's nice. I don't think it's worth 2500 dollars. I drove a new 2012 300 SRT at the track experience without the premium leather and I thought the standard interior was nice. I wouldn't be too disappointed if my car didn't have the premium leather. 2500 dollars can buy plenty of mods whenever they come out.
You're right, nobody will really notice it unless they're Mopar fans.

I'm am a die hard Mopar fan. For 2500 dollars I think the premium leather is a little pricy. The standard interior is nice. I think I'd rather have the black Chrome package. I don't regret having though. It came with the car. Overall it's still the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Same here. All I really wanted as far as options was the safetytec and 18 speakers. I was lucky and found my car with all the options except for the engine block heater and sunroof, the two things I didn't want.

I'll swap interiors with you and stroke you a check for $2500. seriously.
I'll be taking a 2012 300 SRT8 for a test drive this coming Saturday here in Sydney Australia. This leather option is AUD$2200 here; I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems crop up such as the leather coming away from the edges or not fitting properly over corners of the dash/console?
If the drive goes OK and I'm happy with the general "feel" of the car I'm most likely going to order one, Tungsten Metallic with the Black Chrome package. The jury is still out on the Leather Package and the Sunroof.
I haven't any problems with the leather package. I don't think you will miss it. The standard interior is nice. Being that your in sunny Australia you might want to go with the sunroof. It opens up the car. The black chrome package is nice. Not sure about the red leather interior. My wife really likes it. I think it's a little loud. I am sure that once you test drive the car you will be impressed. I am extremely happy with our purchase. It's worth every penny. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. My thinking is it might become a bit tatty looking after a few years of ownership and I'd rather not take the chance. The sunroof looks pretty good. The "driveaway" price for an SRT8 over here with Black Chrome and Sunroof would be AUD $80K. All the Safety-Tech equipment and the 900W sound system are standard here.
How do you guys find the 5-Speed auto? is there any word on when the 8-Speed might appear on the SRT8?
I have had my car since December and have the poltrona leather package and no problems so far, I live in Miami, Fl and my car is Black on Black so it gets extra toasty in the sun and the leather is holding up just fine, no signs of wear on the seats either. Overall the materials used throughout are of very high quality and are holding up very well.
I also have the sunroof option and it's great, the electricity operated sunshade works great and doesn't let any light through and insulates from the heat very well. A friend of mine has a Cadillac CTSV and the sunshade on that car is made of a thin screen material which lets some light through and gets the interior very hot.

The 5 speed transmission works fine, Chrysler has been using it for some time and is reliable.
I'm sure the 8 speed will be better, I have read that it might be availiable next year but it's all rumors and no one really knows when or if it will be available on the SRT.
Don't let the transmission hold you back, you will be very happy with the car, it's a blast to drive!
