I eliminated MDS in my car with intune I2 and it helps with this issue as well. I hate MDS even if it gets better mileage. Mine is at 15 in town and 21 on highway without MDS and the car is 10 times more fun to drive with the HEMIFEVER tune from Sean and no MDS. Just fyi. I got 0-60 times at 3.0 seconds in my car now.

The stethoscope is what really sold me on the waterpump vs lifters or the other problems listed here. You put the stethoscope on the water pump housing and it sounds like you can feel the grinding on the other side of the metal. Pressed on the valve covers, intake mani and other places don't give you that same sound/feeling.

I can post the lync to a video of mine making the sound. It started 2/3 weeks ago and got louder and louder. Interesting people say the Gas and Oil types can make a difference. I will try putting in BP 93 tomo and see if that makes any difference.

Hello. After countless hours of research on the engine vibration and noise at idle. I have cracked the code. The engine MDS and the way the valves are set up in this engine. They need oil pressure to run smoothly and correctly. I bought a intune I2 tuner and had my custom tune guy raise the Rpm to 700 instead of the 550 which is super low Chrysler has made. Engine noise rough idle and click Clack rattle noise gone! I spoke to the mechanic at the dealership who owns same year 2012 Chrysler 300 srt8 and he said. Oh yeah man. I bought a tuner and changed idle to solve that problem. With the way the engine is designed it needs good oil pressure and having it idle so low causes problems with that rough idle. He said I changed mine to 700 and poof runs smooth as silk at idle now. Hope this helps everyone with weirs noises coming from there Hemi
