I got pulled over two weeks ago for not having a front plate (or any as a matter of fact). was not cited and I went about my way. As you already know we both live in San Diego.
I thought about the Hide-N-Go but it would not solve the bigger issue of our bumpers having two holes drilled into them.
I'd rather have the two holes in the front than have a big honking license plate in the front. I would just figure out how to patch them up later. OR, you could just buy some bumper plugs from bumperplugs.com. They're pricey but might be worth it to some. Me, I'm cheap so I would probably go this route
The one thing that kills me about the manual and electric hide-a-plate is the price difference. It's about a 90 dollar difference between the two.

I live in an area where meter maids give tickets for no front plates...........never run one. I've been pulled over once for the guy to look at my car. "I have the same one....where did you get the rims." ****ing tool....still gave me a ticket.
The meter maid tickets....I think 3 so I made a bracket with magnets that I attach when I park....no more issues. This is over four years.....

Clever idea Smoove! Thank you for your inputs. I'm thinking that ill just go with a manual hide-the-plate that runs about 30-40 bucks on Amazon.
Btw, what did you do to the license plate holes on the bumper cover?
^Left them. They aren't super noticeable. If you want them gone, you'll need to have them filled and respray the entire fascia.
The hide-away is nice, but I'm way too low for it. Literally one driveway and it would rip off. Are you mounting it below the fascia or in the lower grill?

I def don't want to respray the front bumper cover, that's for sure. If anything ill either buy some caps or just leave them that way.
I don't see myself lowering the car any time soon so im not too worried about it scraping if mounted on the bottom of the bumper cover.
I've got a black SRT8 with black chrome front grilles. I just picked up the black chrome wheels and need to order the last OEM black chrome part, a small trim strip on the back bumper cover. I'll get the wheels on this week....should be neat looking. :-D
