Here's the latest. Note the MSRP is the same as smoove7410 posted when the destination is included. I'm not sure if the 2000 total to be built is for both models combined though.

It's now starting to make sense. The Luxury Series is slotted below the limited edition. The luxury series is literally just a normal luxury series with a few logos. The limited edition gives you the srt front end and all of the new features. It is the one pictured in all of the pictures thus far.

Yeah. I was a little surprised to see the limited pricing above the luxury pricing, too. The luxury edition looks like more of just a modest materials facelift but the limited looks pretty bad ass. I definitely like that SRT front and the rims and everything.

I am not, unfortunately, a fan of all the emblems and branding on the interior and exterior but plan to debadge the John Barbados emblem on the trunk and can live with a killer interior with a few imprints and logos here and there.

I am, however, still nervous about ordering one sight unseen so hopefully a local dealer gets one in that I can take a peek at or someone here on the forum can take some pictures and provide their impressions.

Where you interested in maybe making a purchase as well? Limited or luxury?

^ I like the limited...it's basically what I have been asking for with the srt front end, monochromatic finishes and brushed mirrors. They basically made me a luxury edition/S/Thema. If you are patient, you should be able to get one at a discount in about 10 months.

Yeah. I totally agree. I think the Limited looks like a luxury 300 S. It's not as musclecar badass as an SRT but it's pretty looking.

I don't see how you can think they will be deeply discounted in 10 months. The only way to get one is to order it. They are not sending any out to lots so they won't even sit around. Every dealer I have called (some of which were not very familiar with the car) confirmed that the only way to Get one is to custom order one. Apparently a first for the 300.

They are also only making 2000. Last year Chrysler sold nearly around 50,000 300s and I have a feeling they are more popular this year and will sell in larger numbers. Even if they sell 50k 300s, 2000 is only around 5% of the entire production line. mI would be nervous to wait 10 months just to get a better deal – and I have also been waiting since September to pull the trigger so I am ready to buy one.

I have been reading a bit on the Internet about getting negotiating a new car purchase as its been years.. I was worried there wasn't room to negotiate on a custom order car but I feel just the opposite now. Since it's a no risk proposition on their side I am hoping they will be a little more flexible on a final price.

^Dealers will order them just like the Mopars to drive sales on their lots. I personally think some will be around in 10 months offered at a discount. To the uninitiated, they won't see too many differences, other than gauges, and will not understand the premium over a luxury series. That is what I'm banking on, but it is a gamble.

Ahhh. Makes total sense.. I know if I was in the market for a new car and considering a 300 then saw a tricked out John Barbados in the showroom it would certainly have me thinking differently about 300s – even if I couldn't afford or didn't like the style for John Varvatos editions.. In my opinion the JV additions do a much better job at combining badass/style/luxury then any of the other models. I say this, of course, without having ever seen one in person. LOL

Here is an interesting story given your hypothesis. I had called my local dealer to tell him of my interest and he wasn't super familiar with the car. He did ask some general questions about what options I would be interested in (V6/V8, sunroof, etc.) And said he would stay in touch as you learn more. Later that night I got a fax from him with an invoice order from "an executive at the dealership" who wanted to purchase one for himself and he said that I might be able to steal it away from him if I was interested. LOL. it could have been a total coincidence that the details of them car the executives at the dealership but where the EXACT same as mine (not super unlikely given the limited number of options on the car) but I thought it was funny that there was all of a sudden a car coming into the dealership that I would have the option to purchase – all without technically ordering one. LOL. If nothing else I will get to see one in person and feel much better about placing my order.

I guess the age-old question for me is V6 or V8? I do enough driving that the gas savings of a V-6 would be nice but I also kind of feel as though at 300C is- at its heart - a refined beast. Since I am not a big truck guy, there will not be many opportunities for me to get a big gnarly V-8 engine in many cars to come. Having never owned a car with a big, throaty engine it seems like maybe I make my 300C the chance to have one.. I'm sure this is on age-old question for many.

Anyone have any strong opinions? 2013 John Varvatos 300C Limited.. V6 or V8? Are there any benefits beyond a personal preference? Resale by you? (I could see this going either way – either the V8 has the charm and personality to match the Varvatos edition or 4-5 years from now big engines are even less popular with future gas prices). Does anyone agree that the v8 best lives up up to the heritage of the 300C badge? I heard rumblings of discontent on the forums when Chrysler started rolling out V-6 300C's. Haven't heard anything in a while though....

Perfect example of how dealers will be ordering them left and right. The 'order when paid for' crap is literally just a sham to get you to commit.

I am going v6 most likely. I have the 8 in my C, which I love, but where I live (WLA/BH), I drive in traffic 95% of the time and the gas mileage is just nuts. The new 8-speed coupled with the v6 is supposed to be pretty peppy, but give pretty good gas mileage. I'll miss the power, but not the constant filling up.

I have rented 300 with the V6 and it definitely had good pick up and a smooth transmission.

New to the 2013 300S is a cold air intake and some sort of tweaked exhaust system (maybe just the tailpipe?) that apparently gives the V6 in the 300S an additional 8 hp and a little bit of a throaty sound.

Has anyone purchased or seen or test drove 2013s that could tell a difference?

Anyone know if this is an inclusion on the John Varvatos 300C's?
