Yea, it has nothing to do with the bolts underneath the seat. Something is going on internally. It makes the noise if you push head backwards against the headrest, or push your back really hard into middle of the seat (when you accelerate from a stop). Since the car is whisper quiet, you can hear it very easily.

That was my experience with the rental. I also experienced feeling a slight pressure in my upper back as I pushed back the head rest as if pressing the head rest back shifted some internal structure to press into me. Perhaps there is some structure internal to the seat that is loose causing the creaking and this pressure I felt?

Glad to hear you did not get the runaround at the dealer.

Did they respond to the issue as if it was something that was commonplace or they were already familiar with? Or was it a "new to them" type scenario?

Let us know how the new seats work out. I'm curious to hear if they feel any different – more firm, less rickety, etc.

***UPDATE***
After having a rental car for almost 2 weeks i got the car back.
They had to order a seat harness from the manufacturer, then they had to make it, then they shipped it to the wrong city, then they didnt ship all the parts, but finally after getting the card back the creaking is GONE!!!!

Hey Guys

Just came back from Sherman dodge in Skokie IL. I printed this thread and explained to them the issue. Dealer called back said they can't reproduce. Technician Allan thought this thread is a joke and said that we are have no experience. I told him you don't have to be a mechanic to state a problem and others have same issue. Upon arriving at the car I sat in drivers seat and pushed back and said see that's the issue. He began to laugh and said come on dude seriously are you kidding me. I went on to tell him that this is not acceptable for a car that is 40,000 plus and also told him that others have same issue and here is resolution. After this I drove out of back lot and into service area I told him bye bye and waived for advisor to come over when I then told him how lazy the tech was as I have others with same issue and resolution. It is beyond me as to why they don't want to make the money or dig further to help. I then told him I will not bring my vehicle back as technician doesn't care and doesn't want to even look into it as he thinks its ok that only the drivers seat makes noise. Service director jumps in car and we have a chit chat about Alan and his customer service skills and lack of going the extra mile to even make a simple phone call to see if corporate has gotten any complaints. Service manager claims he would look into the issue and talk to tech about issue. I can't speak for all technicians but Allan is just one of the most laziest non knowledgable person I have ever met in my life. If someone here who has had their car fix would please send me the RO of your repair I would be great ful!!
