It's funny – I know exactly what you're talking about when you say reaching for your wallet. You kind of lift up your hips and put a lot of pressure on the upper portion of the seat... almost like you are purposely trying to break it by pressing your shoulders against the upper portion. I did it all the time in my last car and was always nervous about the amount of pressure pressed up against it as I am a bigger guy and my shoulders would be pressing back firmly at or above the vey top of the seat. I eventually just remembered to take my wallet out of my pocket and leave it somewhere more accessible.

I'm an inch or to taller and have 30-40 lbs on you so I am right there with feeling like you could be breaking an electric seat. The mechanics of my VW GTI seats have held up well for over 215k miles but there is nothing electric about them... I hope my soon to be purchased 300C seats don't have any issues. :-/

Whit3boy316 I too am around your specs... I dont think they considered the seat for pentastar v6 + 8speed as the launch is much more powerful than say with the 5 speed. Got an idea... wonder if the HEMI 300's if their seat back frames are beefier or different part number this could be the fix we need to handle those launches. Just an idea...

I don't think it has something to do whether being an electric or manual seat, I own a 2012 300C and have the same issue, while I also own a 2003 lincoln Navigator with more than 197K miles on it and never had this creaking on the seats.

I can’t believe I didn’t come across this thread before. Thank you “cinca”

I have my 2012 300c since last May, and I know most new cars have some sort of rattling and cracking some come and go, and some remains. One of the reaming was the driver seat cracking sound. It doesn’t come all the time, but you hear it mostly when you accelerate from a stop or during stop and go traffic. even if you have the radio on you can hear it clear. It’s very annoying. sometimes when I have ppl in the car I forget what I want to say because of it. I tried many seat position, pushing various part of the seat, and let other ppl drive the car just to duplicate the sound but no luck, until one day I had enough of it. so I sat at the back seat of the driver and started to pull the head rest towards me then the creaking started. I guess the leather of the back seat meets the plastic of the head rest was the problem. I think the solution is simple and easy, but I didn’t have the time to get it to the dealer yet but now I know how to stop the creaking before it starts, just pull the head rest forward to losing it up

Chrysler 300 Squeaking Seats

I have a 2012 Chrysler 300 with cloth seats. Both front seats squeak.
The noise is coming from the headrest and the upper part of the seat. The creaking/squeaking is most annoying when I accelerate or slow down. I took my car to the dealer and had both seats repaired. The passenger seat has remained quiet; however, the driver's seat has started to squeak again. The driver's seat started squeaking/creaking again within one week of the repair job. It's very frustrating, but what do I do? I've had both seats repaired, and only one seat remains without problems. I guess I'm stuck with a squeaking/creaking driver's seat. I tell people: don't buy a Chrysler because the squeaking seats will drive you crazy!

The same happened to me only with the driver seat, the dealer fixed the squeaking and within one week or so it started to come again. Not to mention the backseats are also squeaking only during daytime!!

I think chrysler screwed up with the materials used to make the 300.
