Trunk lid spoiler

Just got mine - it has a few imperfections on the sides and does not line up exactly. I tried moving it around but it wont fit flush and has a small gap. Mine also does not open by itself anymore and I tried everything to try and help it. If your trunk struts are strong it will if they are not ....'no dice'

I am happy overall bc I spent a little amount of money and there has to be a trade off when comparing stock to aftermarket. I would recommend to someone looking to cut costs but not the perfectionist looking for a direct -flush fitment.

Anyone try Aftermarket Automotive Accessories | Sportwing.com for 300 spoilers and many other accessories? The price seems to be reasonable for the spoiler.

That's unfortunate news. Send it back and have them send you a good one like I did.

I couldn't get mine to line up perfect either but that was my own fault for doing it all on my own and not having a second set of hands to keep things nice and even. Once the tape is on their it helps make up for the slight imperfection in shape of the spoiler.

Considering that it's supposed to be mounted with the provided hardware and foam strips I think that using their method would result in a properly lined up spoiler. I'm just speculating though.

Same thing happened to me except that I was able to fix one side and not the other because of how sticky that tape is. Had I had my heat gun at the ready I think I could have saved it. Now I'm too scared to put some heat to it in fear of messing up the tape.

It's really not that big of a deal to me.

I just removed the spoiler and took off the tape. I did a dry fit this time and saw that I mounted it to far up. Problem is that the trunk has some roundness to the top and I starting to believe the screws are not a bad idea. I could get one side perfect but I saw the other side looked high. This would not happen with the screws pulling it down.
I will post up the finished product but I think I can make it look good.

That is way too much of a miss for fit on mine and I don't want to send it back. May try that sport wing place

Well I fixed it and got it right - I had help and had to do it three times but I got it where I am happy...
