2013 300 s - sport mode do anything?

I tried it the other day and was waiting for some awesome 40hp added to the wheels but nothing... I am joking here but does that mode do anything in our cars?

What does the book say it's supposed to do? I think it's only for handling, not for added HP.

I think he's talking about Sport mode for the automatic transmission shifter. Sport mode will usually make the transmission shift more aggressively, adjust the lock of the torque converter, shift at higher RPM's, and also change the ECU tuning a little bit to give you more power. That would be pretty funny if you didn't notice a difference. My mom has an 08 Mini Cooper that has a pretty crazy sport mode, and it's not even the S model. When you slow down, the car will actually downshift through the gears and help you with engine braking.

So which car you talking about ^^^^ when you talk about the shifting down as you slow and the change in engine operating parameters? The 300S or your mom's Mini?

Does this hold true for the V8 300S or just the V6 300S?

Hopefully someone with a V8 300S will chime in for an answer.

I have a 300S V8. Sport mode does the same as it does in the v6. Agressive shifting...not sure if it does any changes to the ECU to make more power, there is definitely reduced torque management though.

Just to put my 2 cents in, I have a 2012 300s v6 and there is a night-and-day difference on how the car behaves in Sport mode. Let me say this......the Shift Program in sport mode is just about perfect. For me, I see no reason to use the Paddle Shifters in Sport mode. I love it.
