Put on magnaflow mufflers on today and ehhh

Well I went to an exhaust shop today to try out some exhaust options. First off the 2013's have 4 mufflers - the middle mufflers are a resonator with an equalizer tube connecting them and have muffler chambers...(this is how it was explained to me).

When we removed the rear section and had no mufflers it really was not that loud. In fact the center section really does a lot of the sound baffling. So I wanted to make sure done would not be an issue so we replaced those clunkers in the back only with magnaflows. I drove off but thought it was too quiet. I thought it was almost like stock. Soo

We cut out the centers and replaced those with magnaflow mufflers....much better sound and much less restriction. The car feels like it has more urgency in her step and the sound at idle is low and nice. My only problem is at WOT is does not seem as loud as I want and when you rev it - I don't get that dam that sounds sick feeling.

I needed something not to extreme because I use it for work; however, I want a beast when I go after it...kinda like the analogy for your wife (nun out on the streets and a hooker in the bedroom).

Soo - what do I do at this point? Go straight pipes from the center sections.? At least it's not right now droning on the highway - but you can tell it would if I went any crazier...
I am going to post up the youtube tonight but my iPad can't really catch the true sound. Lets just say take stock and make it deeper with a touch of mean and that's what I got....

Whoever "explained" that to you was dead wrong. Your muffler is the piece in the center. The two cans at the end are resonators. No wonder it sounded better after you removed the stuff in the middle. Pull off the mufflers at the end of the pipes near the tips and put some Magnaflow or Flowmaster mufflers right behind the cats. You want the crossover pipe in place.

You'd better put a set of noise cancelling ear muffs in the back seats for your clients if the Coras Extreme is as lound as the video clips make them out to be.

Corsa's sound so good. They can be aggressive though. But I don't think I've heard one on a new one, specifically a '13.

I'm sure you'll be happy. Congrats - keep us posted when you get it installed.

And as far as "a lady in the streets, and a freak in the sheets" (well, that's MY version of the analogy), I agree with what someone said previously: cutouts. I still plan to get some. I'm waiting to see what 3G is coming up with. But cutouts are instant gratification... close them up for work and open them up for play.
