New 300S Owner with 2 Questions

Hey, everyone!
New owner of the '13 300S and have 1500 miles. Great car. Two questions:
1) Is it normal for a new car to have light creaks in the interior? These are noticeable over rough pavement and seem to come from the passenger door or seat. I am wondering if it is the leather creaking/rubbing? Should I be concerned? Do most new cars have some sort of creak or rattle over rough pavement?

2) I have what looks to be a scuff mark on the bottom bumper of my car (it reaches from the wheel well edge to just under the fog light). It is not a scratch into the bumper "plastic" but like a scuff. Should I try the Mr. Clean eraser pad to see I can remove it? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Awesome car and please post pics. Mine is brand new also and I notice some sounds inside but they are not too loud. I suggest you take your concerns to the dealer or buy an exhaust that will not let you notice them

The scuff can probably be buffed out and again I would make the dealer take it out - if not take it to the car wash and give one of the kids $20 to help you. Magic eraser could work and might also be worth a shot.

Don't use a Magic Eraser to remove a scuff. They are abrasive as well and will only make it worse. This is a clearcoat system so the clear just needs a buffing out and a little wax/polish applied.

It is not normal to have squeaks and creaks or rattles in a new car. That comes with age. They are hard to isolate but I'd take up the issue with your dealer.

First thing I would try is a clay bar with a detail spray

A clay bar will not take out a scuff. Buy a bottle of Scratch X and a small wax applicator pad. Apply a small amount to the pad and with a good amount of pressure, buff in small circles. That stuff will take off anything!

Clay bar may work depending upon what the scuff is. If it is something on the grill but at the least I would clay bar it first to remove any other grime before I took an abrasive to it. Otherwise you will rub that grime into the car's finish. I would also consider using an polish or haze remover that does not have an abrasive in it. Try chemicalguys.com for some options
