any answers about a loud or louder one than the corsa....anyone.....

It depends where and when you want 'LOUD". The Borla is a good system but I have never had one.

I have had the Corsa on my car for 6 years now and wouldn't want another system.

The big thing with the Corsa is that, unlike other systems that use baffles to quiet sound - the Corsa has none! Instead it uses hi-tech 'sound cancelling' technology to cancel out sound at certain rpm ranges.

At idle, the Corsa allows the big Hemi to release that wonderful 'burble' that only V8's can produce.

Under power, up to about 2400 rpm, the sound cancelling technology 'cancels out' most of the engine noise.

However - when you open her up above that range, the sound is like a race car with straight pipes from the headers!!!

No baffles - and no restriction on the flow, which, with a little tuning, also gives you more power.

Another plus is that the Corsa is built entirely from aircraft stainless steel. My system is as good as the day it was installed, 92,000 miles ago.

This past summer, we ran the car with the Corsa in a 6 race series - winning the last race and finishing 2nd in our class. After the last race, the announcer said " the loudest car on the track was also the fastest!" - and we were racing against some pure race cars that had straight pipes.

thanks Northern Rider for your help...Been reading alot of your and Maddogs posts and find very helpfull.The only problem i think i am having is majority of the posts from you guys(moderators)and members,mostly have the earlier 300,not my gen.Curious to know what and how some of these mods you guys have would sound and perform on mine..Thanks

Patdow1 and I also own 2nd Gens are are on the hunt for which catback system we want. I usually buy Magnaflow but I think for this car it might be too quiet.

ya i think you are right,been listening to the corsa xtreme and borla stype from carid.they do sound awesome,leaning more toward the corsa....alot of members seem to like it..waiting to hear from Maddog about how much more you might get doing the catback as apposed to putting on just mufflers...he suggests cherry bombs....i do want as loud as possible.

I might be able to help here because at first I went and switched the resonators and mufflers with magnaflows. I can tell you that the magnaflows sounded nice but only on cold start up and initial acceleration - after that I really could not hear them much.
At idle they sounded pretty good and had a low growl. I wanted a little more volume and was angry that I did not go the full cat back route even though our pipes looked really good. The main difference between stock and corsa was the mufflers and resonators. The stock pipes really are good but the mufflers and resonators are a work of art.

I have learned now that the low frequency is what makes the drone we hear. Usually low rpm and cruising (which is usually at low rpm) makes the horrible resonance - so the deep sounding borla sounds awesome when revving and start up but might drone more because of that low sounding tone it makes.
I really don't have any issues with drone and can tell you I hear a small transition to MDS. At 70-80 mph it quiet untill I downshift or gun it.

Probably one of the most enjoyable mods to put on a big v8

A Hemi is a Hemi is a Hemi...they are gonna sound pretty much the same with the same exhaust system on them regardless of whether it's a Gen 1 or a Gen 2 engine, IMHO.

Picking the right exhaust system for the sound is a very tough personal choice. Thankfully I have had a LOT of experience with what sounds good to me and what doesn't so that made my choice easier to make.

You'll notice I said "...what sounds good to me..." and I did so because for many, sound is one of the biggest selling points for buyers. Most, if not all, aftermarket mufflers will flow better than the stock unit(s). And they do so at the expense of being as quiet as the stock unit(s).

The biggest difference for many people is how it sounds to them! I may like Magnaflow or Corsa but you may not and would prefer a Flowmaster system.

It's all about choice and it's one YOU have to make. A couple things to consider:

1. As stated earlier, most aftermarket mufflers will flow more air than stock ones and they will be louder. Less baffling material means more flow and more sound.

2. As a general rule, the longer the muffler the quieter it will be.

3. You have flow through designs (Magnaflow, Borla), chambered designs (Flowmaster, Blastin' Bobs, Cherry Bomb) and hybrids that use a flow through design with specially tuned baffles to achieve a particular "tone" (Corsa). Normally, the chambered mufflers tend to be louder and resonate more at lower RPM's.
