Ok, so I took out the right bulb and re-seated it while it was lit so I could see the light spread on the garage door. It looks way better now. I'll post more pics tomorrow. There are still some dark areas towards the center-left so I'm thinking I need to re-seat the left bulb now. I didn't feel like taking out the intake again so I'll do it tomorrow and see.
Good to hear. Hopefully that was the issue - cause that's an easy fix!
Ok, so like I said, I re-seated the right bulb and that took care of most of the problems but there is a dark vertical line not being hit by light from the left bulb.
I attached 3 pics
1st pic is both bulbs as of now.....you can see the dark vertical line I'm talking about running parallel just to the left of the center line in my driveway.
2nd pic I covered the right headlight with a thick black towel so I could see only the left beam and the dark line is more visible so I'm guessing I need to take out the air filter compartment again to re-seat the left bulb
3rd pic is the right bulb only after I re-seated it. It looks way better. You cant see the driveway in the pic b/c the towel is bunched up on my hood but the dark line I'm concerned about wasn't there.
Anyway, besides the dark line coming from the left bulb does it look the way its suppose to as far as brightness and coverage? Re-seating the left bulb will fix the line right?
Yea the right side looks a lot better I know it's a hassle but take off the air box and take the ballast and error cancellor out of the housing and that should fix the dark line problem and yea the brightness and coverage looks like its suppose to
Re-Seated the left bulb tonight and the dark line is gone! Take a look at the results and tell me what you think.
I think it looks good but I"m concerned the lights might be aimed too high now.....either that or I'm not use to my lights reaching as far as they do now. Can anyone tell by the pics if they are too high and if so, anyone know how to fix?
Last question.....I didn't use the wiring harness that I ordered with the kit b/c I couldn't figure out how to install it so the HID's are being powered by my stock headlight plugs. Is that a problem. I think I recall reading something about that could screw up the wiring? Anyone know if thats true?
PS....I still have the ballast & error code eliminators inside the headlight housing.
Stock wiring is perfectly fine. I actually wouldn't even bother installing the wiring harness. I've had the same kit installed in my 300 for a few months now with no issues.
Also, I think what was causing your issue before might have been one of the wires from the kit was sticking out over the projector enough to cause that dark spot.
One more thing, and I speak from experience here, if your shutter(s) ever get(s) stuck then its because all the wires and ballast you shoved in there is keeping it from actuating.

Thanks for the help and the feedback guys. This was my first MOD and now I think I've been bit by the bug.....I want to "black chrome" everything but don't know where to start.
Thank you for posting these pictures! I've been wanting to know what the light output and pattern were like when putting an HID kit in the halogen projectors. It actually looks pretty decent.
A lot of halogen projectors don't play very nicely with HIDs... mostly because of the way the light is output. For the best results, it would actually be best to to put in some projectors designed for HID bulbs, like a D2S bulb. You would have a much more even light output and you'd especially notice a difference in the width of the beam.
BUT... as far as ease and cost goes, it looks like these halogen projectors play very nicely with HIDs. I'm glad you got it figured out!
It looks like you could use a little aiming... Easiest way is to find a flat wall and some flat ground. Drive up to the wall and mark the center of each projector on the wall. Then back the car up about 20 feet. The light cutoff should end up about 2 inches underneath where you marked on the wall.

These do look good in the halogen projector's - I have a question, how do you know that the D2S bulbs will work?
Also, I have a 2013, and looking on DDM's website, I don't see what bulb I need. Nor do I see it listed on the Sylvania website.
