Remote Start

Hey guys,

as they left out the button for remote start on the european version - is there any way to retrofit or simply activate this feature by software?

I've disassembled the key fob and shorted out the contacts where the remote start button usually sits to send an impulse but the car stayed off. i guess there's some small bit of software missing...

Well actually you'll need a Remote Start Kit to begin with, I also have the concerns about my 2012 300c which didn't have the remote start feature. I searched for a solution and found a kit that need to be installed in order to have this feature.
the kit includes something like a clutch, a reciever with remote start, a long wire to hook up between those two, and a set of 2 RKE's with remote start button. of course they need to be programmed after installation. this is the part no. for 2nd Gen 300 remote start

damn that sucks as all the european cars do not have the remote start i doubt that the european dealers are even capable of programming my keyfob. especially because the button for remote start isn't physically there. I was hoping that the entire remote start system would be built in into every car and simply would be disabled by software, therefor allowing me to solder in a button into my keyfob

are there any aftermarket tools for this? i vaguely recall a system that used a sequence of lock/unlock combinations to start the car. (like "press unlock, lock, lock, lock -> engine starts")

Not that it matters but the remote start needs to be pressed twice. If the remote start was an option, the dealership probably could have activated it with new RKE's. As that is not the case you'll most likely need a kit as dkn990 stated.

Not only in your region, even in middle east they don't bring this feature for chrysler but for dodge they do!! You can buy any charger available and you get remote start as a basic feature!!
And not only that, also the 2011 300 did come with remote start but the 2012 didn't!?

There no such as a hidden combination to remotely start the car, as I replied before, you need to buy a complete kit to have this. You can buy them online copy the P/N I provided earlier.

Oh sorry, it is for a 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8.

As far as I know, only dealers have the necessary equipment to program the key fob.

It might just be easier and more cost effective to go with an aftermarket product. I know that there are tons of them out there, unless you want to keep it factory.

uhm there are? i did extensive searchs but did not find one
