Exhaust Upgrade Options 2011+ 300 Hemi

Apologies in advance if this is a topic that's been discussed extensively elsewhere; I haven't really found the precise info I'm looking for, so maybe someone could point me in the right direction. Anyway, was just wondering who among you has done exhaust upgrades/mods on their 2011+ 300C 5.7. Looking for a bit more sound and flow, nothing too loud for my 2012 300C, but definitely deeper and more rumble than stock for daily driving enjoyment. I've been shopping around and considering various options, but thought it would be best to hear your experiences/opinions.

The Corsa sport and extreme cat-back kits are nice, but a bit pricey for me. The flowmaster American thunder and Force II seem cool and slightly more affordable, but I've not actually heard them on anything but RT Chargers. On the cheaper side, I'm also considering a simple stock resonator delete (to a straight pipe) or just replacing the stock mufflers and keeping the rest of the stock pipes intact. If I just do the mufflers, which ones would be ideal? Magnaflow? Flowmaster? What size/model? Where is the best place to get them?

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Thanks.

Just do the mufflers. Leave the resonators on the back alone to avoid an MDS drone. As far as which mufflers, that's one you'll have to pick for yourself because what sounds good to me may not sound good to you.

There are a lot of clips and the sound of a first gen 5.7L with aftermarket mufflers on it will sound the same as a second gen 5.7L with aftermarket mufflers on it.

Having said all that, I prefer the Magnaflow sound over the Flowmasters. Just MY personal preference.

Do these make of pipes mentioned above have the spring action flaps towards the end before the boxes?
I have just done my pipes and the thought is constantly in my mind because I left them out and am not sure if I should get some made? In my mind it would affect lower end power, but without Dino I cannot be sure.

Sounds like an affordable and effective way to go. Been looking at the magnaflow website and have no idea which mufflers to choose. Which do you have and would you recommend them? Size/shape/finish/pipe position? I'm all ears..

Anyone have experience with the Blastin' Bob's 18" glasspacks?

Thanks for your time!

I have the bright finished, oval bodies, offset/offset Magnaflow 14263 mufflers.

I've heard the Blastin' Bobs setup on 3.5's and 5.7's and it is definitely a good sound to my ears. Just a bit noisier than the Magnaflow setup. Again, you have to pick 'em based on what sounds good to you.

Magnaflows from inside at high RPM on a 6.1L:

That's really helpful man, thanks so much. Your setup sounds like just what I'm after: not too loud and in your face, but deep and mean when it opens up. Car is my daily ride and I like a good, subtle rumble while cruising and just the right amount of drama when I hammer it.

Am I correct in assuming that you had your Magnaflows welded on? Or can they just replace the stockers with the clamps? Either way..

I'm thinking glasspacks would be overkill, but if they aren't that much louder, the price savings makes them tempting as hell. Decisions decisions..

I personally like the sound (and price) of the muffler delete...Its fairly cheap, you weld in pipe and leave the resonators as is.

I had mine welded in. I hate clamps on exhaust systems. It is, I admit, an OLD prejudice.

Yes I did it to my 2012. No codes...much louder than stock...but only when starting up and mashing the gas...otherwise its pretty mellow.

In my 2008 I deleted the resonators and it was not as deep as it is now...I like the muffler delete sound better.

My only complaint would be the MDS noise when it kicks in...but idk if that is solved with other exhaust options.

that video is a good representation of the sound
